The term vitamin D describes as an umbrella term a group of fat-soluble vitamins: the calciferols. Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is one of the most important forms of the so-called sun vitamin and is considered to be the most effective form of the vitamin in the body.

Due to its positive effect on the absorption of phosphate and calcium, vitamin D contributes in particular to the preservation of bones. In addition, it contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system, muscle function and the maintenance of healthy teeth.

In order to avoid overdosing, a dosage of 20 µg/day is recommended when taken regularly - exactly the amount contained in Sun.

The fat-soluble vitamin K plays an important role in the formation of blood coagulation factors and in bone metabolism. In addition, vitamin K2 is an important synergetic partner of vitamin D3. This means that both vitamins support each other positively in their effect. Thanks to Sun's finely tuned recipe, K2 MK7 all-trans (K2VITAL®) enables the optimized intake of vitamin D3 for flexible long-term supply.

Vitamin K2 in the form of MK7 is considered to be the most effective form of the K vitamin to date and is therefore also used in preparations for dietary supplements.

The essential mineral magnesium helps to reduce tiredness and exhaustion, to maintain the normal function of the nervous system, the psyche, the muscles and the energy metabolism, and to maintain the electrolytic balance. Magnesium also has a positive effect on the maintenance of normal bones and teeth.

In addition, magnesium is another important active partner of the two fat-soluble vitamins D3 and K2. Magnesium supports the metabolism of vitamin D by converting the sun vitamin into its active form. All enzymes that metabolize vitamin D appear to require magnesium. The mineral acts as a cofactor in enzymatic reactions in the liver and kidneys.
